Artist's Bio

A fan of gaming, history and drawing from an early age, Pete Barfield has played wargames and role-play games for most of his life, working from a large collection of rules books and a larger amount of lead figures - some painted, but most undercoated or bare metal.

Meeting Mac Coxhead at a model shop in Northampton where he had entered a painting competition in the Flintloque category, Pete was shown how to play Flintloque, a lesson and subsequent hobby that he enjoyed, realising just how much Mac loved the genre of the game in the process.

In his spare time, Pete always been a keen and talented artist, and for many years drew a variety of fantasy/sci-fi work for his own pleasure and gifts for friends. A chance introduction to Jon Tuffley of GZG gave Pete the opportunity to help illustrate Dirtside II and Stargrunts II.

Pete claims that he never really pictured himself as an illustrator, just someone who could draw. Now 46 years old, Pete works for Her Britannic Majesty as a civil servant, a full time occupation that he has held for a number of years.

Pete still draws and paints, mainly for himself, focusing more on historical themes currently. He still wargames and paints figures.
