The Unit Roster Print E-mail

Now that you have worked out the size of your Unit, you also need to complete the Unit Roster.

This allows you to keep a record of your individual fighters, their abilities, wounds and status, as well as being your own comprehensive record of battles, replacements and promotions.

As your Unit progresses from battle to battle its' surviving individual fighters will become more experienced (and therefore not only more valuable on the battlefield, but also more expensive to your pocket!) You may find that this affects your command decisions on the battlefield - should you sacrifice that costly experienced second-in-command you have for a lost cause, or keep him alive, pay him for another battle, all in the hope that next time he makes the difference and you get rich? The choice, as they say, is yours . . .

The Unit Roster should be completed as follows:

Unit Name: Whatever you've called your lads - Gorbage has called his Unit ''Blue Oyster Mercenaries '' for some deep and unfathomable reason.

Unit Status: The general description of your type of Unit, not the individuals that comprise it. This will be the time of Unit you picked when deciding what race
and unit type you wanted e.g. Bandit, Regular, Warband etc. unless you have changed your Status subsequently (see below)

Number: Each number should correspond to a similar identification number given to the miniature representing that character on the table. We suggest you write this on an adhesive label and fix it to the underside of the base (which will enable you to change the number on the miniature should he rise in rank).

Rank: In a Regular Unit this is straight forward, as the Commander will either be an Officer or a Sergeant, and the number 2 position, Second-in-Command, will probably be a Corporal. The rest will be Privates. However, in a Bandit Unit there will be no formalized ranks, so it is up to the player to differentiate between the Unit Commander, Second-in-Command and the 'Other Ranks', perhaps with the use of more grandiose titles.

Battle: Each action fought needs a evocative name, both to add spice to the game and your units' history, hopefully a heroic or atmospheric sounding name, e.g. 'Deadman's Hill ' or 'Bloody Meadow' . Battles at places with less impressive names such as Halflings Bottom' or 'Glaisdale Drive' should be avoided at all costs, except perhaps in a campaign game, where the name should suggest itself from the campaign map.

Name: Each of your heroic warriors (or treacherous reprobates) now needs a name, so they can be identified, mentioned in dispatches, or insulted by the enemy. Enter it in the column next to the Rank column, under the name of the Battle (see below) in which they are about to fight.
