Dresda

When Dresda, the original sister game to Flintloque, came out it gave me and my friends a chance to use those fantasy miniatures we all seemed to have but never got out of storage. It added a new dynamic with it's excellent campaign system and whilst not as groundbreaking as Flintloque had been it was nice to see how Valon had begun. And most importantly it finally meant we could run fantasy armies against Orc redcoats, having the new order storming the castles of the old.

Sadly the game fell into obscurity but I still have fond memories of when I first got hold of it, it was nice to be playing mercenaries trailing the countryside looking for work and running up against other units with the same idea. The scenarios were the key element and the roleplaying aspect of it was more than any wargame had in it at that point. A few years later Mordheim came out and the world was wowed by the inventive nature of warbands which AA had actually been doing years before.

Now even though AA has brought out Darkstorme recrafting Valon's 3rd age Orcs is proud to present both articles and scenarios for Dresda as well as the complete original rulebook and the unreleased expansion.

  • Scenarios   ( 2 Articles )
Although in some systems you're encouraged to line up your troops on opposite sides of the table and simply advance until you bump into each other in the centre, this isn't really much fun. Here are some interesting and challenging scenarios to make your miniature gaming more enjoyable.
