Sunday, 21st February 2010 OITW is proud to present for your reading pleasure the online virtual edition of Orcs in the Hills Issue 1. Originally published by Wessex Games in the Winter of 1995 as an A5 booklet. It is considered quite a rarity amongst Flintloque collectors and several issues have appeared on eBay over the years at some very high prices indeed. This is a very very special update on OITW for me. Even though most of the included articles have been available online here for a while, providing'virtual' issues of Orcs in the Hills is the very reason I started this site. I'd like to say a very big thank you to Gavin Syme and Steve Blease; Gavin providing me with scans of the issue as it's one of the two I don't actually own; And Steve for giving me permission to reprint the articles so many years ago. Tuesday, 26th January 2010 Today OITW brings you two linked uploads. A classic scenario from the old Orcs in the Hills magazine and a Journal of Valon from the Notables group which ties directly into it. "Sharke's Trousers" by Carl Birch Sharke and Froderorcson's Elite Orc Rifles take on three sections of Elves to regain lost honour (and a certain article of clothing) in this classic Flintloque scenario for two or more players. There are also notes for playing using the Flintloque 3rd edition ruleset, including suggestions on how to play using the Solitaire rules. "Journals of Valon - Sharke's Ryfles" by Alternative Armies When people of any nation in Urop speak of the Army of Great Britorcn it does not take long for the conversation to turn to the ‘Rifles’. Among the most famous of regiments to be found anywhere, Sharke's Rifles are some of the finest light infantry to be found anywhere on Valon. Also included with this article from the archives are new notes for using Sharke's Rifles with the Flintloque 3rd edition ruleset, including some suggestions on stats for the Half Orc Sharke in 3rd edition games. Monday, 18th January 2010 As covered in this month's minion's blog here is the first of my weekly 'from the archives' uploads. Every Monday an old article from Alternative Armies' Yahoo group, The Notable Members, will be uploaded here in fully indexed searchable articles. In "Valon & Earth" we get to see the parallels between Flintloques setting of Valon and our very own Earth. One thing to note is that it's not just a list of armies and towns, although it does have them in too, it has a cracking little 'in world' introduction written by Albion's Primal Minister, Pith the Youthfull. Can't remember that from 2007 ? Just click on the link and get reading ! Keep the Flag Flying ! Craig Andrews Webmaster Orcs in the Webbe www.orcsinthewebbe.co.uk |

Friday, 15th January 2010 Two updates to bring to your attention today ! Firstly is the welcome return of Matthew Hartley in the first of this years Tankard Tales ! In "In The Bleak Midwinter" Matthew looks at the writing slow down one gets over the Christmas break, shares with us some of the gifts left by Mr Claus and draws our attetion to something special coming soon from Wessex Games ! And furthermore, in the first upload of my new weekly classic articles project we meet some Traditionalist Dwarves who are forced to defend their ancestral home against Dwarves loyal to Artur's new order in a classic Flintloque / Dresda crossover scenario for two players. "Ashes in Your Mouth" by Steve Blease And if that wasn't enough at the bottom of the above scenario are notes enabling you to pit traditional fantasy forces against blackpowder wielding troops using nothing more than just the Flintloque Third Edition ruleset.
