Being in the main a comparison and tracing of the names and positions of those creatures upon Valon whose manners and mode match that of certain 18th Century nations from the true history of the Earth, the world of Mankind. For purposes of research into the formation and uniformation of black powder armies and troops.
In the many arcane and hidden volumes bought, brought and sometimes purloined by the Notables in Londinium for the use of the great library in said Gentleorc’s Club there are strange things indeed. In the Club library on the second floor of 23 Picadully Mudfayre with the toss of a small silver coin (no mere copper here) you can persuade Mustustrus to allow you to flip the pages of most of the books. For a few pleasant hours, as the sound of pistols cracking and fists hammering in the streete far below fade to a low background, the amassed knowledge of the Notables is yours. Among these books are ancient scrolls, some even written on the skins of beasts, that store ken which is long vanished from our scientific and enlightened worlde. Here dear members we are concerned with the taboo knowledge long lost of how we Orcs and others became what we are. We all know from schooling that the tyrant Mordred broke the bonds of Wylde Magicke and brought about the current and ever lasting wars; but what were we before this? Before we trod the cobbles, sailed in ships and made eloquent speech in the coffa houses we were, all of us, savages. Mud huts and bloody sword savages. Not only us Orcs, Rats and others of this island paradise of Greate Britorcn but all over Valon. Magicke ruled. Mordred’s actions changed all this and made us different, brought commerce, agriculture, science, refinement and of course war to our minds.....but from where did this mind set originate? Certainly not here on Valon. Among the oldest scrolls written in dark blood upon the pale near hairless skin of an extinct race of people is the near fable work of Meefusla rumoured ageless Orc. Entitled 'Ere is me finking on what we iz and how we iz it' this scroll contains unholy words banned elsewhere, not to be heard of by the unwashed hordes, but being gentleorc’s we are privy to the this vital thinking. While many partes of the scroll are rambling nonsense there are valuable parts. Here is what Meefusla believed; This wizened and time hobbled Orc believed that we had our collective minds warped and shaped by the breaking of Wylde Magicke. He stated that Orcs were too dim witted to think before this (yes, yes, calm yourselves sirs, we know it false, but read on), and that they were content to raid and play with their own droppings. Meefusla hawked that the booming demise of the Magicke screamed across the endless void of the ether between worldes and sucked the minds of another planet here to our beloved Valon. Listen on, its not as mad as it sounds... We changed so much and so quickly, all nearest the accursed Elves being hit with the same ideas at the roughly same time. We changed our clothes, our speech and our manners; Meefulsa himself admits to feeling it becoming now more amusing to wear trousers upon his lower half and not over his head for ‘giggles’. He states that this change came from another worlde, a planet so far away that we will never see it with our own eyes, though our minds are firm linked to its own. He called this planet Earth the dominion of Man. He claims that we all, and I mean all races upon Valon, took on the guise of nations from this Earth and acted accordingly! While debate on this taboo text is keen within the Notables, the summary of the facts it contains are presented here. Read them, Sentinal knows they are in the main gibberish to me, but a few of you might make use of them. For the Kyng. Pith the Youthful. Primal Minister. *** The Nations of Valon - The Nations of Earth (Reference Texts for these Nations and their Affect on our own Troops.) Cities of Earth and their brothers on Valon

Reference Works for this 'Earth' and her Troops There is also a VERY short list of titles, all strange and meaningless to us here but they do seem to be works of reference for these Earth armies and their own seemingly familiar wars. Enjoy.
The Napoleonic Sourcebook (Philip J. Haythornewaite) (Arms & Armour Press) 414pg. (Weapons, Tactics, Maps, All Nations, Campaigns, Generals, extensive book list) Napoleonic Army Handbook V1. The French Army & her Allies Napoleonic Army Handbook V2. The British Army & her Allies (Michael Oliver & Richard Partridge) (Constable) (354pg & 479pg) (Organisation and Uniforms of all Nations down to Battalion level with battle honours) This is a very basic (but VERY full) reading list for Napoleonic references, you can expand greatly on this but these titles are easy to get and are an affordable starting point with huge reading lists to follow on to. These three books provide enough information to track nearly all campaigns and texts to allow specialising on a particular army easy to do.
