Continuing the Story...
Zombie in My Pocket by Jeremiah Lee Zombie in My Pocket is an excellent game available for free on the internet. It's a free print and play game where you simply print out the tiles and cards and can then play anytime you want. It can also be played online without any printing through any Flash-Enabled browser - just go to www.mywiferocksproductions.com. It has spawned many variants over the years and one day I may spend some time creating a variant based on the story above but for the moment you can simply play it as it is. Some tweaking in your brain is required to make the game fit as the conclusion of the above story. The relic itself is something that Mary took from the Wishing Tree which angered it way back when she was a child. Which led to it taking and corrupting the souls of the children. When she left Mrs Strauss' in such a hurry she forgot it, not giving it a thought in her new Londinium life. Now, pursued by the souls of her long lost friends and her brother, she has to find it and bury it in the sanctified area in the garcden of Mrs Strauss' house. Whenever a card says Zombies it means the children from Mary's dreams made manifest. The weapons aren't period specific but just pretend they are, the golf club is a sword, the chainsaw a Dwarven invention with many blades, or something like that. The main point, re-read the story after dark and then go and play a few games of Zombie in My Pocket, and most of all, have a fantastic Halloween ! Further Notes Originally the above story was written as a lead into a Flintloque scenario. I liked the idea of a chase sequence like that found in The Shadow Over Innsmouth themed computer game, Dark Corners of the Earth. In it you wake up in your hotel room bed and there's fishmen breaking down the door and you have to get out through a side door door, locking it behind you as you go. As you move through the rooms along the side of the hotel you're constantly under pressure to lock or block doors before eventually breaking out onto the rooftops. I considered what mechanism was best to use and I had pencilled a few notes about trying to escape from Matthew: - Number of turns to get to the top of the house ? - When defeated her brother can come back through any mirrored surface (window). - If a window is broken more water comes out, no escape that way but prevents Brother from entering but the water level rises quicker... - Locking doors - action - slows down brother - Use playing card mechanic, black cards bad, red good - If you choose to help Mrs Strauss get more red cards to shuffle into the mix - Locked Doors - Draw card to see if open (red) or locked (black?) - Portraits - Draw card to see if comes to life to aid in your defence - Two actions each turn (examples - block doors, smash mirrored surface, move forwards one room) It kept getting more complex and sadly moved further away from the Flintloque mechanism, almost becoming a mini card/board game in it's own right. One day if there's enough interest I may type these up into an actual game. If you have any questions or queries feel free to email me -
