'The Reserves are Here' The Dwarf Landwehr Cavalry The Mounted Militia of the Confederation of Finklestein and Krautia As a result many mangy and old ponies, toothless artillery horses and even lizards from Al-Garvey have been brought to Krautia and to the Ferach Allied States and given over to the tilling of the land. The shortage of mounted troops, especially in Beervaria and Hunvaria, has led to the raising of regiments of Landwehr Cavalry in addition to the foot regiments. Though these mounted soldiers are to be found on patrol in their own regions some are attached to Mordred’s Armée in the Witchlands and to Krautian field armies. The Landwehr are armed with a variety of pitchforks and scythes along with felling axes and other rustic apparel. They ride ponies in the main but most officers, being village big wigs, have a Pig as a mount while the luckless standard bearers are forced onto the hissing lizard mounts that are useless for farming. A few unfortunates even have to ride ragged limber horses that have been rejected by better equipped squadrons. Using the Landwehr Cavalry in Slaughterloo Column 40
