Extract from: The History of Valon

Let me give you a very important bit of advice: Never call them ‘trolls’!

Nothing arouses more anger in a Trolka than the use of this derogatory term. Many confuse these stony, mossy greengrey giants with the savage, wicked beings known as trolls who used to run rampant in Skandavia ages ago. The trolls were feared by all, even by their smaller ancestors, the Trolka. Some see the Trolka are a slightly dim-witted and generally peaceful race, yet others view them as battle hungry brutes whose ancestors were known to pillage the coast of Valon. In actuality, both views of these complex creatures are true. Under the rule of the Crystal Elves the Trolka have given up their marauding past to become a more peaceful, developed nation. They engaged in peaceful pursuits and were usually content by keeping to themselves.

However, the Trolka have a strong warrior heritage and are proud of to be Skandavians. However, they are not afraid to defend themselves and those who attack the Trolka usually feel their fury. Our Imperial Majesty has tried to channel their ferocious nature toward the threats to our empire in the region--the Undead of the Witchlands, the werewolves of Diberia, the ogres of Hunvarian and those pathetic dwarves of Krautia.

The traditional Skandavian line uniform in service of his Imperial Majesty have always consists of a dark blue jacket with yellow turnbacks, a yellow banded sash, white pants, with black boots and gaiters. However, the rebellious scum serving the Grand Alliance and commanded by the traitor Gustavus have chosen to dress their soldiers in bland grey uniforms with blue turnbacks and yellow piping. I have no idea why they didn’t choose a properly heroic uniform colour like blue, green or even red. However I suspect they either can’t afford dye, so grey is all they can muster, or they want to hide like cowards amongst the rocks, fighting like bandits instead of true soldiers.
